Former Westfield Tennis Club Members:
I would like to inform you that Westfield Tennis Club has a new name; it is now officially Smithfield Tennis & Pickleball Center (TPC). Below is an announcement that is being distributed regarding winter use of the facility. You will notice that we are not offering any tennis this winter. Unfortunately, the Derecho damaged all of the court backdrops and divider curtains, as well as 5 out of the 6 court furnaces. Jose Marval has been teaching a few lessons on court 2 because he can control the environment and keep it safe for his students. Unfortunately, playing tennis is not viable in its current condition. Due to the substantial damage, we have had to build a temporary wall between courts 2 & 3 and we have taped out pickleball courts on courts 1 & 2. These pickleball courts are only interim and, as you will see in the message below, when the building is reconstructed these pickleball courts will be located on former courts 5 & 6. We have limited email addresses so please feel free to forward this to anyone interested. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to email them to SmithfieldTPC@gmail.com.
Thanks,

Good News Tennis and Pickleball Enthusiasts!
As many of you know, we have been operating the club on a limited basis for the month of November while we figured out the extent of the damage and what repairs to make. We are happy to inform you that the plan is to bring back the entire building. We will be replacing the damaged roof, sidewalls, and HVAC systems. We will also remodel the locker rooms, repaint the court surfaces and refresh the entire facility. The goal is to offer the community indoor pickleball and tennis on a year-round basis. We have made temporary repairs that will allow play this winter with six pickleball courts. The long-term plan is to have at least 6 dedicated pickleball courts and 4 indoor tennis courts. As you can appreciate, the construction timeline is somewhat fluid, but we are hopeful to have the entire facility up and running by late spring early summer.
In an attempt to cover some of the fixed costs during the winter, we are instituting an interim pricing plan that will run until the building is fully functional. Effective December 1st, we will offer the following options:
V.I.P. Pickleball Membership:
For those players who would like to take advantage of a V.I.P. Pickleball Membership that covers all your open pickleball court time expenses for the month, we are offering a Monthly Individual Membership for $50.00 ($46.73 plus tax $3.27). This does not include lessons, clinics, and tournaments. These membership fees will be collected at the beginning of each new month and cover all the court times that our administrators have listed as open play on the Playtimescheduler.com website during the month. This membership is the most cost effective if you plan on playing at least 2-3 times per week.
Pickleball Drop-in Fee:
If you wish to come to one of the designated open play times on the Playtimescheduler.com website, you may do so for a fee of $5.00 ($4.67 + $.33 tax) per visit.
We appreciate your patience during this interim period. We are vetting several online scheduling and payment options and look forward to providing the community a facility that we can all be proud of. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at SmithfieldTPC@gmail.com. Have a great Thanksgiving and Holiday season!
Thank you,
Smithfield TPC

Dear Westfield Friends,
Exciting news! As of 9/30/2021, Duane & Laura Smith have taken over ownership of Westfield Tennis Club. They are currently in the process of securing contractors to begin the process of rebuilding the club.
They see the need in our community to have affordable public access to indoor year-round tennis and pickleball and feel strongly that given Westfield’s rich history in the field of tennis that this is a great opportunity for both the tennis and pickleball populations moving forward.
I have been retained to help with the implementation of the repairs and to oversee the re-opening of the facility. Once more information on the timeline becomes available we will share it with you. I look forward to seeing you all again in a restored building!
Sincerely,
Rusty Graff
